Religious Fasting is Good for the Brain

Aside from the spiritual rewards that religious people get from fasting during holy week, studies and researches show that a decrease in calorie intake for quite some time can be beneficial to the brain. It is said to decrease heart rates and blood pressure, and make the brain younger. Like for instance, a higher percentage of the people in Europe and America are believed to have Alzheimer’s disease compared to that of the people in China and Japan who are consuming food with lesser calories. So isn’t it a good idea to fast once in a while and shift to low-calorie diet?!
