Men who regularly eat tomatoes, tomato sauce and pizza may be less likely to develop prostate cancer. Harvard researchers analyzed the diets of 47,000 men and found those who ate 10 or more servings a week of tomato products were 35 percent less likely to develop prostate cancer than men who ate fewer than one and a half servings. The researchers credit lycopene—a substance found in tomatoes and other foods, and believed to be health protective.
