I really used to love to watch cuckoo clocks; I loved the little bird that would always come and announce the time with its cuckoo sound. But, one of my most vivid and favorite memories was about a grandfather clock; I became fascinated with grandfather clocks, I would watch them and be amazed at how easy they were to maintain and operate.
While growing up, the only clock that I had was a wind up alarm clock that had this horrible ticking sound and an even more disturbing bell that would ring and wake up even the deepest and most comatose sleepers. Well, if anyone could sleep through that, it was probably because they had too much to drink the night before.
But, Howard Miller grandfather clock were and are simply amazing to me. At first, however, I associated the clocks with haunted houses. That was because I had seen too many horror films in my youth. But, when I actually saw one, I was really impressed. Because, it did not need any electricity, and you did not need to wind it; all that was needed was to redistribute the counter weight so that the force would continue to allow the clock to run. At that time, it was almost like perpetual motion to me. Follow the previous links if you want to learn more about some really amazing grandfather clocks. Check them out now at 1-800-4clocks.com
