Balancing Intake and Output

Our bodies require energy for all it’s functions from breathing to thinking; from keeping the heart beating to repairing worn-out tissues. Any physical activity we undertake, whether it is answering the phone or going to shopping to the mall requires energy.

All the energy we used comes from the food that we eat. In order to have a healthy weight we need to balance our energy intake with the energy output. This means that the energy in the food that we take should be used by our body through physical activity. Those excess energy that is not used will be stored as fat in the body.
