Alzheimer's Memory Walk

You can join with an Alzheimer's Memory Walk. If you have ever had or have a loved one that has been stricken by Alzheimer’s disease, then you know the heartbreak of seeing that loved one diminish in their mental and physical capacities. The disease not only afflicts those who have it, but it causes a lot of mental anguish to those who are close to the person that has the disease. Then you also have to mention the tremendous financial burden that is place upon the family members that have to make sure that their loved one receives proper care for their health.

It is helpful to have a support group that understands what you are going through, because having to face this alone is more than any one person should have to bear. There are also organizations that help to gather support for Alzheimer’s disease research. If you are interested in doing something or learning more about what you can do, then follow this link to Alzheimer’s Memory Walk.

I have had 2 grandparents die from Alzheimer's and one suffering with it now, and it IS the most horrible disease out there today. I am going to start a team for the Memory Walk in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and hope to get a large group to join me.

I do want to say one thing for the families out there. If you have a family member suffering with Alzheimer's or Dementia, please begin recording all their memories and life experiences before they get progress and can't remember. We did this with one of my two grandparents and I have been doing it with my Grandmother for a few years now. It is fabulous and a beautiful way to preserve your family history. You may even learn things about them that you never knew. It has been fascinating and very depressing at the same time. So, find a good voice recognition device and start documenting your family history. You'll be happy you did.
